Dr. Ronald S. Federici is the author of the esteemed 1998 psychology text Help for the Hopeless Child: A Guide for Families (with Special Discussion for Assessment and Treatment of the Post-Institutionalized Child), which is now in its second edition. Dr. Federici earned his B.S. in Organic Chemistry and Clinical Psychology in 1980 at Purdue University and went on to earn his first Masters degree in Biological/Physiological Psychology from the University of Chicago in 1981. In 1983, Dr. Federici earned a second Masters degree in Neuropsychology from the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and two years later, he also earned a dual Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology and Child Development from the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Ronald Federici opened his practice Neuropsychological and Family Therapy Associates in McLean, Virginia in 1986. Today, in addition to serving as the practices Clinical Supervisor, Dr. Federici is also the acting Director. The world-renowned practice specializes in the treatment of internationally and domestically adopted children with severe trauma, fetal alcohol syndrome, deprivation, family discord, violent behavior, attachment disorders, behavior problems, and school problems. Because of his specialized understanding of adoption cases, Dr. Ronald Federici has become the countrys foremost expert in the genre. In addition to practicing at Neuropsychological and Family Therapy Associates, Dr. Ronald Federici is also the Staff Neuropsychologist at Alexandria, Virginias Mt. Vernon Hospital and Falls Church, Virginias Dominion Psychiatric Hospital. Dr. Federici has also taught as a guest lecturer at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Bethesda Naval Hospital, both in Maryland.
